For a business owner and marketer, knowing the difference between what is important from what is urgent can help in the success not only of the marketing campaign such as your poster printing, but the whole business itself. When you know what should be prioritized as opposed to what is being accomplished first makes a world of difference in getting you to meet deadlines regularly with your marketing, be it online poster printing or traditional flyer printing.

It is often understood that when something is urgent, many business owners tend to accomplish it right away. But when something is important, many business owners make it a point to prioritize it in their list of things to be done. Hence, what are urgent are often those that are given more attention and done right away, while those ‘important’ things get a schedule instead. In general, people often put in priority those that are urgent rather than those that are important.

And still, it is a common situation where many focus on both or mix up the two ideas.

This is where you as the business owner and marketer should know the difference. When producing your poster printing for example, you need not interchange these two ideas. Instead of giving more time and effort to those projects that are urgent, you should prioritize those that are important as it requires more time and that much effort from your team. Putting all your resources to accomplishing what is urgent often gets in the way of achieving your expectations for the long term. Because of some of the projects’ urgency, we tend to provide more time and resources in trying to ensure that the matter gets resolved quickly.

To make your poster printing or even online poster printing job meet the deadlines you set, here are a few tips to get you right on track:

Determine day-to-day problems vs. important goals. In order for you to reach your long term goals you need to set a deadline not only to your overall results but also to your day-today activities that need to be accomplished right away. Do not let your daily activities keep you from accomplishing other things to reach your ultimate goal. Do not allow it to eat all of your time that nothing is left to do but to fix things on a daily basis. You need to focus on your long term goals and put in priority those that are important rather than those that need urgent attention.

Avoid giving priority to those things that just do not cut it. This means giving importance to things that can accomplish your goals and not on those that can only waste your time in the long run. Do not sweat the small stuff especially if it does not contribute to your achieving your end results. On the contrary, make a list of important items that can make your business life better. If there are things that are not that urgent but still needs your attention, go back to it after you have done more important things for your business.

Try to sort out your urgent activities right away. As soon as they arrive, sort out those activities that are urgent. This will help you prioritize as well as drop from the list that can be done some other day or can take the backseat from your important things to accomplish.

The bottom line is to know the difference from what is important as opposed to what is urgent. Do not dwell too much on stuff that takes so much of your time but does not accomplish much of your end goals. Your time is far too important to distract you from accomplishing your goals for your business.
