Optimize Your Title, Description and Keywords Meta Tags

What are the meta tags? Meta tags are HTML code inserted into the head of a web page. Title tag is the first, most important meta tag; it determines what appears at the top of your internet browser, and also appears bolded in search engine results. So, the title tag is the number one meta tag to appear in search engine results pages. The meta description tag is the brief summary of your web page; it appears below the title in the search engine result. So it is very important to include your main keywords in the meta title and description tag.

The first step of search engine optimization is optimizing the meta tags. The first and the most important tag is the meta title tag, the code should be something like this: <title>your title here </title>, below the <head> tags.

The second tag is the meta description tag, and the code should be something like this: <meta name="description" content="your description here ">.

The third one is the meta keywords tag, and its code should be something like this: <meta name="keywords" content="keyword1,keyword2, keyword3 ">.

All three of these meta tags must be added between the head tags "<head> and </head>". You can optimize these tags as follows:

Optimize the meta title tag. Say that your targeted key phrase is "unique father gifts", your title tag must be as follows: <title>Unique father gifts</title>. You can also add one or two supplemental words - like review, cheap, affordable, best, top, etc. For example, you might make it like this:

<title>Unique father gifts review</title> ...
