• Start and Exit the Program
• Main Window
Once you are up and running and have some familiarity with the program can begin.
Registry Repair may be started by double-clicking the Registry Repair icon on your desktop or by selecting Start -> Programs -> Migo Software -> Registry Repair 5 -> Registry Repair
Scanning – Click the Scan button, select the registry items, click the Scan Now button. During the scan, you have the option of stopping the scan and returning to the first step. If you do not stop the scan, the current scan is displayed. Stopping the scan can be achieved by clicking the Cancel button or the Back button.
Selection and Removal – By default, all items that are identified in the previous step are selected for removal. You can clear the checkboxes of an item that you do not want removed.
There are several settings that you can configure:
• Shut down Registry Repair after the repair is complete
• Automatically repair items after scanning
• Create a system restore point before repairing errors
• Check for Registry Repair updates automatically
• Prompt me before downloading any updates
• Display splash screen while Registry Repair is loading
You can set the Registry Repair schedule so that your registry is scanned automatically on a regular basis. Once you are certain of your scan settings -especially the registry items that you can select - you can set up one or more new schedules. To view your schedule information, click the Settings button (in the Registry Repair main window).
To start a new schedule:
1. Click the Settings button
2. Click Manage Schedule > New
3. Modify the Schedule Settings
4. Click OK
Every time you remove items from the registry, a backup file is created. Registry Repair stores these backups so that you can restore the items that were removed from the registry. You can restore one or more backup files at a time.
Recommendation: Use caution when you restore the registry, as restoring the registry can affect the functionality of your software. Use this feature only when you need to restore to a previous working state.
You can use Registry Repair to select which applications are launched when starting your computer. This functionality is similar to that of the Windows System Configuration Utility. With the Manage Startup tool you can improve the startup speed by choosing only the items you want to launch when you start your computer.
Recommendation: We recommend that you use caution when re-configuring the startup entries. As a precaution, you can disable an item and see how the change will affect the functioning of your computer.
The Statistics page gives you an overview of errors that have been detected, ignored and cleaned from your system. From this page, you also have the option of clearing stored statistics.
Registry Repairs clean up feature allows you to scan and clean up several Windows sections and program areas. Depending on what programs are loaded on you system, the list of items that will display may be different that shown below.
In general, Cleanup works on the following three high-level sections:
• Windows
• Internet Explorer
• Microsoft Email
To use Cleanup, simply select the sections and items you wish cleaned and click the Start Scan button.
