Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport is the Midwest's premier airport, as it serves over 35 million passengers every year. The airport has seven concourse areas. The Lindbergh Terminal serves both domestic and international flights and is comprised of Concourse areas A- G. The Humphrey Terminal serves domestic flights and has gates 1-4. The airport offers facilities in both terminals but the Lindbergh Terminal is the larger of the two terminals and has more facilities available. Currently the Humphrey Terminal is called Concourse H, however this may change as there are plans to add a Concourse H to the Lindbergh Terminal.

Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport is right next to the I-494 interstate highway between the towns of Mendola and Richfield. Just east of the airport there is the US-5 highway that leads directly to the airport from both Northwest Drive and Giumack Drive. To the west of the airport the US-77, Cedar Highway, passes right by the immense Mall of America. Bordering the northern part of the airport is the US-62 highway. There can be congestion in the Twin Cities during the morning and late afternoon rush hours so make sure to give your self enough time to get to the airport during these times, especially if you are flying internationally.

To get to the airport from the north drive on Highway US-35 heading south and then take the US-62 heading west. Get on the US-5 heading west and follow the signs directly to the airport.

To get to the airport form the south take Highway US-35W and head north then take the I-494 interstate and head east. Get on Highway US-5 and head east following the signs directly to the airport.

The airport offers many transportation options at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. These transportation options travel from the airport to the Twin Cities and the surrounding areas. The airport transportation options are buses, a rail system, shuttle buses, rental cars, shared vans and limousine services.

Many public buses serve the airport. The airport offers also airport shuttle buses that operate from the terminal buildings at the airport. The public buses and shuttle buses travel to the Twin Cities and to the surrounding areas. The buses run on regular intervals and are the cheapest way to travel. The bus stops are located at the Transit Center at the airport near the Blue and Red parking lots. There are also some hotel courtesy shuttles available that can offer their guests door-to-door service to and from the airport. There is a new light rail system that connects the airport to central Minneapolis and the Mall of America. The rail system can be caught from the Lindbergh Terminal and the Humphrey Terminal. The train departs every seven minutes during peak times and at other times every 15 minutes.

There are several shuttle buses that operate at the airport. These shuttle buses connect the two terminals at the airport, as well as the economy parking area. These shuttle buses run 7 days a week every 10 - 15 minutes. There are a few bus shelters for waiting passengers located outside both of the terminals.

For a number of destinations there are shared ride vans at the airport. These shared vans can be taken to destinations in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The fares are generally inexpensive and will depend how far the destination is from the airport. Two of the major shared van companies operating at the airport are Coach USA and Express Shuttle.

There are many taxis available at the airport and can be caught outside the Lindbergh Terminal. The travel time form the airport to Central Minneapolis takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic. For disabled travelers there are blue phones located outside the Baggage Claim area where taxis can be called. Generally the taxis have a basic fare but there are additional charges for driving late at night and on holidays and for luggage. There are plenty of parking options available at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. There is short-term and long-term parking available and there are also many disabled parking spaces. There is even an economy parking area located close the airport.

The General parking at the airport is located near the Lindbergh Terminal building. This area is for periods of over tow hours and for daily parking. The short-term parking is near both of the terminal buildings and charges per half hour. This is the parking area that is best for dropping off and picking up passengers. The short-term parking areas connect to the Lindbergh Terminal by skyways and walkways. The economy parking area is just north of the Humphrey Terminal building on 34th Avenue. This parking is called the "Econolot." This area is used for long-term parking and there are courtesy shuttle buses that connect the parking area to the terminals. These shuttle buses run 24 hours a day every ten minutes. There is also valet parking available at the airport. When using the valet parking all you have to park your car outside of the airport and your car will then be parked for you and ready for when you return. The valet parking at the airport is located outside the Lindbergh Terminal building.

The airport is located near the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and there is a wide range of accommodation options in the area.
