This time of year and in these economic conditions, money can be a very delicate topic. But it is definitely a subject that is on nearly everyone’s mind.
That’s why this column is focusing on a gift that you can give for free. In what follows you will read information about a nine-step program that may just change the way you look at money forever. If you find it helpful, pass it on to someone else in need—thus continuing the concept of a growing phenomenon that emerged in the late 1970s to spread free financial education through the non-profit organization, New Road Map Foundation (NRM).
The website Financial Integrity aims to offer free financial information in hope of changing people’s lives with a nine-step program called Financial Integrity. The program was designed by the late Joe Dominguez who co-authored a bestseller book with Vicki Robin, Your Money or Your Life: Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Achieving Financial Independence in 1992.
Dominguez’ personal story is somewhat of a rags-to-riches tale. He was born in Spanish Harlem, New York City in 1938. Education was his escape out of the slums. He learned about money, how it worked, and how to accumulate it while he worked his way into a successful career as a Wall Street financial analyst. Dominguez retired at the age of 31. Dominguez’ wealth was not made from a “killing on the stock market, but merely from his own salary and a diligent method he created that combined classic financial principles with practical daily actions,” according to NRM (which Dominguez, Robin, and others formed to help people transform their relationship with money and align their financial choices with their values).
