Steps

  1. Thaw bread dough following package directions.
  2. Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Spray a Bundt pan with non?stick spray. Coat the pan interior well as this is a sticky, gooey, coffee cake.
  4. Cut each loaf in half vertically, then cut each of the halved pieces in half the long way again, to form vertical strips.
  5. Cut each strip into 1-inch pieces. Roll them into balls.
  6. Coat each ball in melted butter.
  7. Roll the butter-covered balls in cinnamon and sugar, covering well with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Stack the cinnamon-sugar covered balls inside the Bundt pan.
  9. Place the Bundt pan in a cozy spot, not too warm, and let rise until the dough reaches the top of the pan.
  10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, or follow the frozen bread dough for correct oven temperature.
  11. Bake the coffee cake for the amount of time specified on the bread package.
  12. Allow the Monkey Bread to cool and carefully turn out the coffee cake onto a serving plate.

Tips

  • You can also use homemade bread dough instead of frozen dough.
  • There are many versions of Monkey Bread, some using homemade bread dough, others using refrigerated biscuit dough.

Warnings

  • Don't burn yourself on the hot pan or oven.
  • Use oven mitts to remove the hot pan.
