As women, most of us are still making a huge mistake… Putting others first. We put our partners, bosses, children, parents, organizations, and even pets before ourselves. We think that if we don’t, something terrible will happen to “them.”
Somehow that notion of caring for others causes us to neglect ourselves. Then at some point we get so frustrated, depressed, angry, burnt-out, resentful, anxious and/or stressed that our overall happiness seems light years away.

According to the American Heart Association, “Heart disease is the number one killer of women over 25. Heart disease is not a man’s disease anymore.” Consider that there is a direct correlation between your happiness and your health. You must put some self-care into place IMMEDIATELY to release your stress and increase your happiness. I realize this may be easier said than done. It’s not always easy to break out of the habit of taking care of others. Oftentimes we feel guilty for putting ourselves first. However, this is the pattern that is killing women today.
The good news is that you have the power to release stress, guilt and shift these patterns.
