Participate in 19th-century games on the Village Green, make your own puppet in our creative puppet-making workshop and explore the autumn sky under the Planetarium dome. Children will enjoy singing along to rollicking songs of the sea in our "Tales and Tunes" program, climbing aboard the Museum's fleet of playscape boats and discovering the world's last wooden whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan, as she rests ashore in the Museum's shipyard undergoing a three-year restoration. And while you're here, don't forget to check out our regular schedule of activities including demonstrations aboard tall ships, daily music programs, horse and carriage rides through our 19th-century village and interactive exhibits. When it's time to eat, the Galley Restaurant has a menu full of kid's favorites (plus lots of choices for Mom and Dad, too). Take part in the thrill as Santa Claus arrives in Mystic on the John Paul tugboat. Precisely at 2:00 pm, Santa will arrive at the dock of the Mystic River Park. He will greet the crowds and listen to all the children¡¯s holiday wishes. Come and enjoy the Christmas carols while waiting for Santa to arrive.

The tree lighting will be promptly at 6:00pm, then stay for a spectacular light parade!For the hearty souls who keep their boats in the water and commissioned into early winter, please join us on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 as we continue this tradition in Mystic; a Parade of lighted and decorated vessels. Vessels will parade down the Mystic River at 6:20 pm and return to the Mystic River Park, where spectators will be gathered. Judging and awards will take place for the most spectacular vessels. Vessels of any size are welcome, and there is no cost to participate, please contact the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce for an application.
