PodMediaCreator is based around a multi-featured module that uses tabs for switching between the different types of media and a one-click transfer of content to your chosen destination device. PodMediaCreator allows you to produce content for the iPod or iPod Nano. Depending upon your choice, you can work with tools designed for photos and music plus videos if an iPod is the selected option.
By default the program opens with the music tab selected. You can import WAV, MP3 and WMA files ready for editing and resaving in MP3 format. Options are available to adjust fade-in and fade-out levels; add effects such as echo, reverb and wahwah; plus mix tracks that can include your own commentary. An audio playback facility allows you to check results before saving the file.
When working with photos (JPEG, GIF, PNG), you can preview the image as you carry out various tasks. You can rotate, flip, crop, and retouch; add a background colour; plus apply effects from a small selection that includes, sepia, emboss and fish eye. Text can be added and the image saved as a JPEG.
Video clips (MPEG4, AVI, DIVX, WMV) can be imported and viewed in either edit or storyboard views with a preview screen for checking alterations. A voiceover commentary can be added with controls to adjust audio balance. Several transitions are available and text can be added at appropriate points in the clip. The results will be saved in MPEG4 format.
In order to transfer content to your mobile device, you will need to have iTunes installed on your computer. For iPod users you will need version 6.0 while those with iPod Nano require version 4.9 or later.
PodMediaCreator is a capable product, as long as you do not expect too much from it.
