The modern household is typically packed with electronic gadgets that are used for work purposes, entertainment and simple practicality. Travelling long distances with children has always been a bugbear of parents throughout the land. It is worth measuring up a gadget’s power consumption against a vehicle’s battery capacity; the presence of breakdown vans restarting a car battery on a campsite is more common than you might think.
Of course, ‘green’ is a very important watchword these days and those going on camping holidays, or even to festivals, are encouraged to make use of the variety of gadgets that are powered by sustainable sources of electricity such as the sun or the wind. Solar powered phone chargers are not uncommon these days and a new range of wind powered chargers is slowly coming onto the market. Alternatively, there are many ’wind up’ gadgets available, such as torches and radios.
Whatever your reasons for choosing to take a gadget ‘on the road’, it is worth taking a little time to ensure that you have the right gadget power supplies to make them part of your holiday or trip, rather than just useless, powerless appliances that simply get in your way.
