Some Guidelines to Prevent Spam

Getting spam is very annoying. Not only does spam clutter up your inbox, but sometimes it could be dangerous and fraudulent email which steals your bank account or does some other kind of criminal activity. Spam is sent many ways, but the most famous way is sending emails. But what most people aren't aware of is that the senders of spam often have your email address because you put it in some dubious web site, which registers your address in spam lists, or in a list to be sold to spammers. 1. Be careful when entering your address. When some site asks for your email, you should be absolutely certain that the site is a safe one. Whenever you are in doubt, can't trust the site or see something fishy and suspicious about it, find out more about it by doing a search via a search engine.

However, what most people don't realize is that spammers can get your address easily when you post it in a public location such as an open discussion forum, or a web site so people can contact you. Common methods to avoid this include using "AT" instead of "@" and "DOT" instead of the "." symbol when giving your address, because the spam bots won't realize it's an email address or how it is spelled. Another method you could use is to give your email in private ways, such as instant messengers or personal messages. ...
