The Ticket desks at the terminals are near the boarding gates. Terminal 1 at the airport serves both international and domestic flights and has gates 1-16. San Antonio International Airport is just to the north of interstate I-40 that loops around the city of San Antonio. Also just to the west of the airport is the US-281, called San Pedro Avenue, and leads to the Wurzbach Parkway. To the east of the airport is the I-35 interstate, called the Pan Am Expressway. To the north of the airport there is Nakoma Street, Starcrest Drive, Jones-Maltsberger Road, Wetmore Road, and Thousand Oaks Drive. The traffic in San Antonio can become congested during the early morning and late afternoon rush hours so you need to give yourself plenty of times to get to the airport if you are traveling at these times, especially if you are flying internationally.
To get to the airport from the center of San Antonio drive on the Loop 1-410 heading east or west and take the Airport Boulevard exit. Follow the signs and turn into the airport grounds.
To get to the airport from the north drive on highway US-281 and get off Airport Drive exit, as you will see signs for this exit. Drive on South Terminal Drive and past two traffic lights until you enter the Parkway Entry Plaza.
To get to the airport from the south drive on interstate I-35 heading north and then merge onto highway US-281. Take the Airport Exit, which you will see signs for, and keep driving towards the car park.
To get to the airport from the east drive on Loop I-410 and head west. Take the Airport Boulevard exit and follow the signs until you get to the car park.

The least expensive way to travel to San Antonio and the surrounding areas are by the buses that serve the airport. The buses at the airport are the Metropolitan Transit buses and run every day on a regular schedule. There is also a city bus that gives a scenic route to San Antonio and takes around an hour depending on traffic. There are also several hotels near the airport, as well as some in the city, that offer door-to-door shuttle bus services from the airport to the hotel. These shuttle buses can be found outside the terminal buildings at the airport.
There are many taxis that are available at San Antonio International Airport that can be caught right outside the terminals. Taxis can give you an easy way to get to San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Taxi rides from the airport to the city center of San Antonio takes around 20 minutes depending on traffic. The airport taximeters begin with a basic fare but there can be additional charges for late night and holiday driving and for luggage. Some of the shops located at the airport are Alamo Books & Café, Swatch, Landing Gear (jewelry, clothing, and accessories), Native Texan, In Celebration of Golf, Simply Books, and Brookstone. There is also the UETA Duty Free shop located across from Gate 11 that offers many tax-free goods. There are many places in each of the terminals where you can grab something to eat and drink. There are coffee shops, restaurants, cafes, and fast food outlets at the airport. There are vending machines located throughout the airport. You can also find a wide variety of snacks at the newsstands. There are also many disabled parking spaces that are closer the terminals. There is short-term parking, long-term parking, and economy parking available at the airport. The short-term parking area is the best option to take for dropping off and picking up passengers. The long-term parking area is also close to the terminal buildings.
