By April of 1995, Sheraton introduced Four Points by Sheraton Hotels, which was a mid-scale hotel brand that offered a full-service hotel experience at a competitive price.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. bought Sheraton in 1998. Starwood also owns St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, The Luxury Collection, Le Méridien, and Westin Hotels & Resorts.
