Raw Food Diet for Dogs Manchester CT

All food that we buy either from the vet or grocery chain is cooked and processed. This changes the properties and nutritional value of the food we give them. In fact, this processed food our animals are eating makes it harder for them to digest or break down the food as easily as they would if they were fed a much more natural diet with no preservatives, colors, by-products and chemicals.

It seems that there is a lot of information out there on what is the best raw food diet for dogs. If you are a first time owner it can be a big task. Especially if you have a dog with special health needs or requirements that need to be met.

There are many opinions from experts out there as to what you should and shouldn't feed your animal companions. So what is the best thing? From puppyhood to adulthood your dog's requirements change and so does the type of food they need. What do you choose? Fresh, canned, dried, or vacuum sealed? These choices can be very overwhelming to choose from and they can have a great impact on the pocket book as well.

No matter what method you feed your dog from pup to senior, you need to make sure that they get a well balanced diet in nutrition. And even though the advertising world will tell you that the dried food is the best to give your dog a long life of health and well being, that is not always the case. In fact it could cause more health problems than expected.

Here in this article I will bring you one more choice to consider. Not that we need another item to confuse us further, but if we educate ourselves on every choice then we can make the best decision for our pet that is in their best interests. This is the raw food diet for dogs.

This diet has been derived based on what your dog would be living on if he/she were in the wild. This really is not a new concept. Think about it what did people feed their pets before Iams,Eukanuba and Purina came on the scene? Remember dogs have teeth that are designed to tear, rip and shred meet off of raw bones. Dogs are carnivores. many commercial foods are made with vegetables and grains, but these are not really a necessity for dogs nor is it the best of ingredients.

The Natural way, or raw pet food, of feeding our dogs is not usually recommended by veterinarians. This is not because they do not know about it, but they are really not trained in animal nutrition. They sell a specific type or brand of commercial food only because its easy to sell and it has a label that you as the consumer can read just as easily as the vet. Think about it, is your family physician trained in human nutrition? No. They recommend or refer you to see a dietitian. So then it really is up to us pet owners to see what is best for our dogs. And a raw food diet for dogs is one of the best ways to keep our pets healthy.

The commercial dog food industry has made every dog owner out there think that they are not intelligent enough to think or figure out how to feed our dogs without the convenience of a package, bag or can to open. No wonder its a multibillion dollar industry!!! Its been said that raw bones are bad for dogs. NOT TRUE!!

Now I am not advocating a strict diet of just raw pet food. But in combination with high quality kibble and natural supplements will go along way in maintaining your pets well being.
