After meeting with the home owners in the Kingsway part of Toronto they showed the exterior of their home and wanted to do a major exterior improvement job. I thought it was odd at first until they showed the interior of their home which was all beautifully renovated room after room.
It made sense to improve the exterior. We wanted to make the home look like it had flow, purpose or curb appeal. After viewing pictures of other homes for ideas, we decided to stucco the portion of home not stuccoed and to re-colour all old stucco. We agreed on the use of the large window mouldings around the upper windows. We also had an opportunity to make the metal chimney pipe built in to look like a normal chimney. The new dormer was added for architectural balance. The front entrance area had a new landing and flagstone steps all installed by Walter's Landscaping.
A front porch roof and roof across section going over the bay window was incorporated to make the bay window look like it belonged. A skirt was added to the bottom of the bay in exterior grade plywood which was stuccoed over. Columns were added along with a new custom made pre-hung front door system. The home owner who did a lot of the interior improvement work was able to take the existing garage door and make it look like a pair of coach doors. A new roof was also provided using thicker asphalt shingles and all new eaves troughing.
