T. F. Green Airport
T. F. Green Airport is located in Warwick, Rhode Island. It is only six miles from the city of Providence. This airport is the busiest one of the six airports operated by the Rhoda Island Airport Corporation. It was completely rebuilt in 1936 and was the first airport in the country that was completely owned by the state. A wide assortment of airlines uses T. F. Green Airport offering flights to various cities within the country as well as flights to Toronto, Canada.
Eleven airlines have scheduled flights to and from T. F Green Airport offering different services for the passengers. There is also a charter casino flight to Atlantic City that leaves from this airport. There are many facilities within the terminal including retail and dining opportunities. Public transportation is available at the airport and accommodations are available quite close to the airport and everything that Providence has to offer.
As one of the fastest growing airports in the region, the airport has invested millions of dollars in improving the runways and the services offered to passengers. Some of the improvements include the construction of new arrival ramps so that passengers have easier access to the lower level of the terminal and the baggage claim area. The Security Screening area has been expanded so that there are eight lines through passengers can pass, which speeds up the wait time at this checkpoint.

The terminal of T. F. Green Airport consists of two levels. Some areas of the terminal are open to all visitors to the airport, while others are for the comfort and convenience of departing passengers. Many opportunities for dining and shopping are available throughout both levels. The business center is located on the upper concourse. It is available on a rental basis and can accommodate from eight to ten people at a time. The Briefing Center can accommodate thirty people at a time. In both conference rooms, you have all the equipment at your fingertips that you need to conduct your business, such as speakerphones, fax and copy machines. All public areas of the terminal have wireless Internet service.
Students of the Johnson and Wales University operate the information services at T. F. Green Airport. These services include information about tourism in the area, driving directions, information about accommodations and general information about the airport and flight schedules.

Nicknamed the "Hassle Free Airport of New England," T. F. Green Airport is in close proximity to major cities in the region. This includes Boston, Newport and Cape Cod as well as all areas of Rhode Island. The airport itself is located only one mile off Interstate 90. The exit ramp from this highway takes you directly to the airport.
If you are driving to the airport from Northern Rhode Island, Providence, Massachusetts and other northern points, take the I-95 south until you reach Exit 13. This exit will take you right to the terminal. For those driving from Cape Cod and points in Eastern Massachusetts, take Route 195 west to the I-95 and then take Exit 13. Coming from Southern Rhode Island and Connecticut, you should drive on I-95 north until you reach Exit 13.
The driving directions from Worcester are a little more complicated. You need to take the MA- South, which becomes the RI - 146 South when you enter Rhode Island. Continue on this highway until you reach the exit for RI - I-295 and travel south until you reach Exit 3A. This exit will take you to the RI - 37 east and you stay on this highway until you reach the exit for I-95 South. Then you take Exit 13 to the airport.

There are many options available for ground transportation at T. F. Green Airport. Most of the providers provide transportation service to downtown Providence, which only takes about fifteen minutes. The taxi and bus area is located on the lower concourse of the terminal, just outside the baggage claim area. Car rental agencies also have counters in this area of the terminal.
There are nine car rental agencies with counters at the airport. The pick up area for most of the rental cars is located on the lower level of the Parking Garage next to the Terminal Building. For off-site areas for picking up rental cars, there are shuttles available to and from the airport.
There are three taxi services operating at T.F. Green Airport. The one you choose depends on your destination once you leave the airport. The Airport Taxi and Limousine Service provides transportation between the airport and the surrounding communities. The Aero-Airport Limousine Service is a shuttle that operates on a regular schedule from the airport to specific points in the downtown area of Providence. For those traveling to Newport, the Cozy Cab, Inc, provides the shuttle service to this area.
There are two bus lines operating at the airport. The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority operates regularly scheduled runs from the airport to most major destinations in Rhode Island. For points beyond Rhode Island, the Peter Pan Bus Lines travels to neighboring states. If you prefer to travel by rail, Amtrak and MBTA Commuter Rail are available, but you must make reservations or call ahead to check out the rates and schedules.
For your safety, it is recommended that you use the taxicabs at the airport. You should also check on the fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings. Some of these cabs accept credit cards, but if not you can use one of the ATM's in the terminal to get the cash you need. For the most part, there is a set fare for traveling by taxi to downtown Providence, but you may have to pay additional charges for late night transportation.

Along with the business services wireless Internet and information kiosks in the terminal, T. F. Green Airport has other services that are available to guests and passengers. Either before boarding your flight or when you arrive, you can enjoy a relaxing massage. First Class Massage is available after you leave the Security Screening area and operates from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. On Sundays there are flexible opening and closing hours. You can get information on this service at one of the Information Centers. Numerous ATM's are located throughout the terminal for the convenience of passengers, but most of the shopping and dining outlets do accept credit and debit cards. You can have your shoes shined to perfection at PVD Shine, which has regularly scheduled hours of operation.
There are many facilities in the airport for the comfort of disabled passengers. The parking area has several disabled spaces available right next to the terminal. Inside the terminal, there are wheelchairs available for those passengers that need them and help is available for boarding the aircraft. In addition, there is an elevator for disabled passengers as well as specially fitted washroom facilities.

While there are already many options available at T. F. Green Airport for shopping and dining, the expansion plans include many more options. Some of the new venues you can expect to find at the airport include Brooks Brothers, Only in Rhode Island, The New York Times Bookstore, Johnny Rockets, Chili's and Providence Oyster Bar.
All visitors to the airport can enjoy the full service available at The Federal Tavern. Once you pass through Security, there are many more options available in dining. Enjoy seafood at the Black Island Bar and Café, or Mexican cuisine at Tito's Cantina. If you are looking for fast food or just a slight snack, you will enjoy Dunkin' Donuts, TGI Fridays and The Wolfgang Puck Kiosk.
News Stands are located on both levels of the terminal. Here you can pick up a newspaper, magazine or book to read while you are waiting in the airport or during your flight. These stores also carry a wide variety of items, such as souvenirs, last minute travel items and items of clothing.

There are more than 7000 parking spaces available at T. F. Green Airport. These include areas reserved for valet parking, daily parking, and hourly parking and parking on a weekly or a long-term basis. All of the lighted parking lots have a free shuttle service to and from the terminal and 24-hour security so you can have peace of mind when you leave your vehicle in either one of the areas.
In the valet parking lot, there are 550 spaces including spaces for handicapped parking. This parking lot is located in Garage B and there is a covered walkway for the short walk to the terminal. The staff here will assist you with your luggage and treat your vehicle with professional care. You can use one of the phones in the terminal when you are ready to leave and have the valet bring your vehicle to the terminal entrance for you. The rate for this service is $33 per day.
The most convenient parking area at T. F. Green Airport is the daily parking area. This is directly across from the terminal and is completely covered. You can park your vehicle here for up to four days. There are a total of 1340 parking spaces available on three levels, with handicapped parking available on Levels 1 and 3. The cost of parking in this location is $20 per day.
For picking up and dropping off passengers, the hourly parking lot is also conveniently close to the terminal entrances. The cost is $3 for the first thirty minutes, $1 for the second thirty minutes and $2 for each additional thirty minutes beyond the first hour. This parking lot is not for overnight parking and there is a limit of five hours for all parking.
If you need long term parking beyond the four days offered in the daily lot, you can use the weekly parking area. There are 4330 parking spaces available here at rates of $11 per day or $56 per week. This parking area is some distance away from the terminal, but the shuttle service runs on a continuous basis from the parking area to the terminal.

The Radisson Apt Hotel Providence is located directly across the street from the T. F. Green Airport. This hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. When you make your reservations, you can inform the desk of the time of your arrival so that the shuttle is waiting for you when you arrive. The Hampton Inn and Suites Providence Airport Warwick is only a quarter of a mile from the airport and this hotel also offers a free shuttle service. Both these hotels are also within walking distance of many fine restaurants and attractions. Since these hotels are so close to the airport, they tend to fill up quickly, especially in the tourist season, so it is recommended that you make your reservations in advance.

There are many hotels offering accommodation in the Warwick and Providence areas. The options for accommodation in the general area of T. F. Green Airport include luxury hotels and suites as well as economy accommodations. You can also choose the accommodation based on its proximity to the attractions or the business venues you want to visit. As in other areas, prices for hotels are usually cheaper during the winter or off-season than they are during the summer months.
In the business district of Warwick, you can stay at the Comfort Inn offering a free Continental breakfast and free shuttle service to the airport. You can have easy access to Providence when you choose to stay at the Best Western or within walking distance of the city attractions at the Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel, located only minutes from the downtown area of Providence. Other hotels you can choose include Comfort Suites West Warwick, the Holiday Inn, the Courtyard by Mariott, La Quinta Inn and Suites or the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Suites.
