This will require some student teaching under the supervision of a full time instructor. It may be difficult to arrange the classes part time at night. Teaching technology-based courses is usually reserved for individuals that have a lot of technical savvy. Usually, the topic matter is some type of new technology with which your students are not familiar. Technology teachers in elementary or high schools are usually responsible for maintaining the school’s computer network. Technology teachers at business schools that offer a certificate or associate’s degree might only require the teacher to have a bachelor’s degree, although some will require the teacher to have a master’s degree.

There are several technology teaching jobs where the subject matter is more artistic than technology oriented. For example, professional web design, animation, and digital photography all require a certain level of artistic ability. These teaching jobs require a lot of industry experience compared to being an elementary or high school teacher. Therefore, in these cases, if you do not have a four-year degree, this may not be a problem if you have relevant industry experience.
