In 1988, the term techno began to be formally used to describe the genre of music that was created when synthesized music was created. When this genre was finally defined, it began to be used to label works of art that dated back as far as 1977. However, it is still the three men from Detroit who are given the credit of creating the music and designing it to be enjoyed by the masses. The genre was and still is pushed forward by different types of people from different races.
