(NC)-Home theatres can be organizing nightmares with the number of unsightly cords and cables that have nowhere to go but on the floor or stuffed behind the TV. Luckily, there are options for an easy fix to get your home theatre system off the floor and hide all the cables.

Consider buying an on-wall furniture unit that holds multiple electronic components, such as DVD players, gaming systems and additional speakers. They're cost-effective and create a beautiful looking display.

On-wall furniture mounts to the wall and provides a seamless look when used in combination with a wall-mounted TV. They're easy to install too, with many great features, such as those found in the Vertical AV Foundations line from mount and furniture manufacturer Sanus Systems (www.sanus.com).

"On-wall furniture is a practical solution that supplements traditional furniture and can be used in any home-décor setting," said Dominic Grey, product development manager for Sanus.

Models such as Sanus' VF5022 and VF5023 offer two and three shelves that hold up to 75 lbs. each for maximum storage capacity, and generous wire management channels for concealing cables. The furniture can be installed - offset over an outlet - so cables can be routed through the back of the furniture and then covered with the decorative panels, which can be easily removed for easy access.

This quick fix will not only make your home theatre area easier to maintain, but will also create a virtually wire-free appearance.
