Description:
Don't miss this opportunity for structured networking, where you'll be assigned to a table and each person will take a turn speaking about his or her products or services. Then you'll rotate to another table and do it twice more, meeting three tables full of prospective new customers or clients. The advantage to this type of networking is that you have the undivided attention of the group at your table. Instead of informally mingling with just a few familiar faces, you will experience a very focused networking scenario. Come prepared to talk about what you do and bring plenty of business cards. Please note that in order to ensure optimal networking for all attendees, no more than two individuals from the same company may attend each breakfast.

Description:
When it comes to developing talent providing quality feedback is the most underutilized "tool" in any manager's toolkit. Because of the usual difficulties that go along with such discussions many managers avoid or mishandle this basic responsibility. This session presents a new tool for creating hearable and ayable?performance messages. The Performance Continuum Feedback?Method (PCFM) represents a new direction from established feedback approaches because it bypasses the need to raise negative performance examples. Sometimes we refer to these conversations as "constructive" criticism. However, even with the best of intentions, the message usually feels confrontational thus causing most employees to react defensively. With the PCFM, performance messages come across as non-threatening. This allows the feedback receiver to remain open to listening to the information as opposed to engaging in a confrontational exchange with the person delivering the message. Avoidance of defensive reactions enables managers and employees to come to terms more quickly around developmental solutions and goals.
