Are you receiving multiple calls from an unknown number? Have you been racking your brain trying to figure out who is calling you? Is the suspense unbearable? Here are a few steps you can take to try to identify who has been calling you.
· First try searching public records. If you have searched public records, and you still cannot tie a person’s name to the phone number, there is a decent chance the phone number belongs to a cell phone.
· So you didn’t have success searching public records? Try calling the number yourself. See if the person provides their name for you. If this does not work, maybe try having a friend call the number.
· Google is another valuable tool to identify the origin of the call. Type the phone number into Google. There is a chance you will be able to identify the caller. Even if you can’t, if other people have had issues with the same number, there is a decent chance you might find some information on a public message board.
· If Google was no help, you might try a reverse look up. There are many websites that offer users the ability to lookup a phone number and they will track down the user. Many of these sites require payment for the service, so you should decide just how badly you need to know who is calling you.
· If the four steps outlined above were no help, you could hire a private investigator. Like reverse lookup, there will be a cost associated with this, so decide just how badly you need this information.
