Like other regular bangles kangan are made out of various materials like metal, lac, wood, plastic, rubber etc. and are either decorative and ornate or plain. In today’s day and age, the kangan is seen mostly around young wrists and are generally worn single, as in on one hand.

Bangles account for a large quota of trendy jewelry in the Indian and now the Western market. Owing to this factor, you will fine the market flooded with bangles made of all sorts of materials. Besides the regular metal and glass bangles that one is used to seeing, there are bangles made from wood, plastic, lac and even rubber. Some of these are just plain colored, while there are those that are ornate with glass and mirror work, hand painted and even embroidered.
