Walk-In Closet Kailua HI

We are in the process of finishing our walk-in closet that's part of our master bedroom suite. Our walk-in closet design-build project will include painting the room and installing wood closet organizer products. We are currently trying to evaluate which closet manufacturer we want to use but we have decided that we'll be using some type of "cherry" finish.

Walk-In Closet Color Pallete

Color PaletteWe are in the process of finishing our walk-in closet that's part of our master bedroom suite. Our walk-in closet design-build project will include painting the room and installing wood closet organizer products. We are currently trying to evaluate which closet manufacturer we want to use but we have decided that we'll be using some type of "cherry" finish. Based on that we've decided to paint the walls in the walk-in closet a yellow to match the master bedroom walls. I think the yellow will help keep the room bright and really accent the cherry finish shelving and accessories. The walk-in closet was previously painted all white when we built the house. So there's no need to prime the walls. I have about 2 gallons of Sherwin Williams eggshell paint left from the master bedroom walls. The color is Sherwin Williams "Butter Up" No. 6681. I'll put two coats of paint on the walls today so the painting will be all done before I make a decision on the closet system and order the materials.

Painting Tip

The walk-in closet will be really easy to paint. One tip I'd like to point out that I've shared before is to paint the trim first. In fact, don't worry about getting the trim paint onto the wall a bit. When you paint the trim out onto the wall a little it actually makes it much easier to "cut-in" the wall paint up agains the trim. Give it a try and I think you'll agree. This is true because most people use a semi-gloss or gloss paint on trim. When you paint out onto the wall a bit it makes it really easy to paint a nice clean line up against the trim when you put on the wall paint.I'll write another post after the painting is finished. Hopefully we'll make up our minds on the closet products in the next day or so.
