| Pharmacology |
The IC 50 values of complete clematis saponin (CCS) on the cells of in-vitro cultured Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC), S180 ascites carcinoma (S180A), and hepatic ascites carcinoma (HepA) are 242mg/ml, 193mg/ml and 130mg/ml, respectively. The tumor-weight-inhibiting rates of CCS at 0.25g/kg, 0.5g/kg and 1g/kg on transplanted sarcoma S180 in mice are 40.3%, 55.1% and 53.0%, respectively. These statistics suggest that Wei Ling Xian has anti-tumor effects. CCS (at 0.2g/kg, 0.4g/kg and 0.8g/kg) does not, however, seem to significantly affect mice's survival time from S180A.( 2)
