You've left it to the last minute, and now your college term paper is due in the morning and you haven't even started. This is no time for weeping and procrastination. You've got to get started! But where do you begin? There's so much involved in churning out an acceptable college term paper, and to do so overnight seems an insurmountable task. But fear not. By following the process below, you'll have a college term paper in your hands by morning that you can happily admit to writing by yourself.

1. Decide on a topic... fast! There's no time for worrying about the best topic for your college term paper. Right now you just need a topic. So decide what you want to write about, and which angle you're going to take (will you argue for or against something?). Then come up with a thesis that sums up your topic, your opinion, and how you plan to argue it (yes, a thesis can and should be this specific). A great thesis will lay down the foundation for your essay, so don't skimp on your thesis. Be specific.
2. Do a very rough outline. Before that first word even hits the paper, you should know exactly how your college term paper is going to flow from beginning to end. You need write the basics of your introductory paragraph, the arguments for the body of your essay, and the conclusions you'd like to draw at the end. I know - you're thinking how can I step away from something that's due in the morning? But it's necessary in order to give you a fresh focus for the editing stage. Get a coffee or watch television for a bit. Whatever you do, don't fall asleep. You'll be in even more of a panic in the morning when you wake up to an incomplete college term paper. Best finish it before you hit the hay.
5. Edit. Happily, this is the last stage of writing your college term paper. Skim your paper for obvious errors, and make sure to run it through your word processor's spelling and grammar checker. Ensure that your college term paper flows well from one paragraph to the next, and make sure that you have cited and referenced your quotes and resources properly. At this stage, you may want to print a rough draft so that you can look physically look at your term paper. This will help you see any glaring mistakes or areas for improvement. After making any corrections on the computer, print off your final copy and you're done.

Congratulations. You've just written a college term paper overnight. Granted, it wasn't easy and it's probably not your best piece of work. But your work and long hours have resulted in a college term paper that you can proudly submit as your own.
