Combined use of bentoin and extract of Xi Feng Ding Xian Wan can lengthen the latency of cardiazol-induced convulsion in mice and can delay the occurrence of strychnine-induced convulsion in mice and prolong their survival time. Extract of Xi Feng Ding Xian Wan can decrease the severity of auditory convulsion in rats.( 2)
Inhibiting the central nervous system: Experiments show that Xi Feng Ding Xian Wan can inhibit mice's autonomous activity, enhance sodium barbiturate's central inhibitory effect. The formula is effective in suppressing aggressive behavior in mice that live alone.(3)
