Experiments show that the infusion of this herb lowers blood pressure; the solution of this herb's alcohol-based extract significantly increases the coronary artery volume of the isolated rabbit heart, moderately inhibits the heartbeat rate and myocardial contraction, significantly improves healthy mice's endurance of oxygen-deprivation.( 6),( 7)
In-vitro experiments show that this herb counteracts a number of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus diphtheriae, typhoid bacillus, beta hemolytic streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shegella flexneri, Bacillus coli, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, and Nocardia asteroides.( 8),( 9),( 10),( 11),( 12)
There have been reports that the decoction of this herb raises the blood sugar concentration, and this effect peaks three hours after treatment.( 13)
